Ashab us-Suffah platform

Ashab us-Suffah was a platform built in the mosque of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Medina during his lifetime. The word “Suffah” means “platform” or “bench” in Arabic.

The platform was made of palm tree trunks and was located on the right-hand side of the Prophet’s mosque, near the back wall. It was covered with date palm leaves to protect the people who sat on it from the sun and rain.

Ashab us-Suffah was a place where poor and homeless Muslims could stay and learn about Islam from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions. These people were known as “Ashab us-Suffah” or “people of the platform.”

The Ashab us-Suffah were a group of dedicated Muslims who spent their days and nights learning about Islam, praying, and serving the community. They were among the most pious and devoted followers of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

The platform of Ashab us-Suffah played an important role in the early history of Islam. It provided a place for the poor and marginalized to learn about the religion and become better Muslims. The Ashab us-Suffah also served as an example of the importance of education and the pursuit of knowledge in Islam.
